American professional baseball center fielder Lorenzo Lamar Cain is a free agent. He has participated in Major League Baseball games with the Kansas City Royals and the Milwaukee Brewers.
He was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 17th round of the 2004 MLB Draft out of Florida’s Tallahassee Community College.
After making his MLB debut in 2010, Cain was traded by the Brewers to Kansas City along with three other players in exchange for ace Zack Greinke.
He finished in the top 10 in the American League for hitting average (.301) and stolen bases (28) four years later.
He has earned three Fielding Bible Awards and four Wilson Defensive Player of the Year awards for outfielders, and he is well known for his defensive gymnastics.
Additionally, his defensive performance contributed to his winning the 2014 American League Championship Series Most Valuable Player Award. Additionally, he received three votes for MVP in 2015.
