Lucas Sims, full name Lucas Sundberg Sims plays professional baseball as a pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. Lucas is 1.88 m tall and weighs 102 kg.

He was born in Lawrenceville in Georgia on May 10, 1994. He attended Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia where he played baseball for the school’s baseball team. The Atlanta Braves selected him in the first round of the 2012 MLB draft. He signed with the Braves for a $1.65 million signing bonus.

The Braves assigned him to play with the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Braves and Danville Braves that year for him to make his professional debut. He spent the 2013 season with the Class-A Rome Braves. The Braves sent Sims to play in the Arizona Fall League in 2015 where he opened the AFL season for the Peoria Javelinas and also started the Fall Stars Game.

Baseball America ranked him as the Brave’s number 13 best prospect in 2016. The Braves invited him to their spring training that year. He first played for the Mississippi Braves before he was promoted to Gwinnett in April of that year. The Braves added him to their 40-man roster after the season.

Lucas made his MLB debut on August 1, 2017, when the Braves faced the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Braves traded him in July 2018 to the Cincinnati Reds.
