He began 2017 with the Clinton LumberKings after spending 2015 and 2016 with the Arizona League Mariners, where he hit.239 in 34 games while posting slash lines of.336/.405/.465 with two home runs, 35 RBIs, and 19 stolen bases.

He was promoted to the major league roster on April 25 and played in his first game that day. With seven home runs and 33 RBIs in 108 games, he hit.238 for the season.
Early in 2020, a deal to send Rengifo to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Joc Pederson and Ross Stripling almost materialized, but it was not to be.
The Angels’ second baseman for the first part of the season, Rengifo underperformed and was demoted. He played in 33 games and had a final average of.156.
