Luis Urías, full name Luis Fernando Urías Figueroa is known to be a professional baseball player from Mexico. He plays as an infielder for the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team. He is 1.75 m tall.
Luis was born on June 3, 1997, in Magdalena de Kino, Mexico to María Trinidad Figueroa Esquer and Ramón Urías. He began playing professional baseball in 2014 after he was signed by the San Diego Padres as an international free agent in December 2013. In the 2014 minor league season, he was assigned to play with the Rookie League Dominican Summer League Padres.
He was promoted during the season to the Rookie League Arizona League Padres. He also played for the Yaquis de Obregon of the Mexican Pacific Winter League in 2014 and 2015. During the 2015 season, he played for both the Class A- Tri-City Dust Devils and the Class A Fort Wayne TinCaps.
In 2016, he played for the Class A+ Lake Elsinore Storm and the El Paso Chihuahuas of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League. The MLB selected him to play for the Mexico national baseball team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. He made his MLB debut for the Padres on August 28, 2018. He was traded in November 2019 to the Milwaukee Brewers and he had been playing with them to date.
