Luke Williams

Luke Williams, full name Lucas Daniel Williams and nicknamed Captain America, is known to be an American professional baseball utility player with the Miami Marlins baseball team. He is 1.85 m tall.

He was born on August 9, 1996, in Park Ridge, Illinois in the United States of America. He played high school baseball at Dana Hills High School where he was named 2015 Cal-Hi Sports Second Team All-State. He was drafted out of high by the Philadelphia Phillies in the third round of the 2015 MLB draft. He signed with the team and received a $719,800 signing bonus.

He began his professional career that season with the Gulf Coast League Phillies. In the 2016 season, he was assigned to play with the Low-A Williamsport Crosscutters. In 2017, he played for the Single-A Lakewood BlueClaws and in 2018, he played for the High-A Clearwater Threshers. For the 2019 minor league season, he was with the Reading Fightin Phils of the AA Eastern League.

The 2020 minor league season was cancelled so he did not play that year. He played winter league for the Adelaide Giants of the Australian Baseball League. Before the 2021 season, he was named the best overall athlete in the Phillies’ minor league system and was assigned to spend the season with the Class AAA Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

He made his MLB debut for the Phillies on June 8, 2021. He was traded to the San Francisco Giants in March 2022 and in May 2022, the Giants traded him to the Miami Marlins.
