Michael McCorkle “Mac” Jones is a quarterback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He sports the Patriots’ number 10 jersey. He is 1.91 meters tall and weighs 97 kilos. On September 5, 1998, he was born in Jacksonville, Florida, in the United States. He took part in high school football at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, under the leadership of head coach Corky Rogers.
During his junior year, he led Bolles to the state regional championship in 2015. As a senior in 2016, he led Bolles to the Florida 4A championship while throwing for 1,532 yards and 29 touchdowns. He was given a scholarship to play football for the Alabama Crimson Tide at the University of Alabama.
Jones was chosen by the New England Patriots in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was the last of five quarterbacks selected in the first round and the fourth player from Alabama. He agreed to a $15.6 million, four-year rookie deal on July 6, 2021, with a full guarantee. His performance in his rookie season earned him a spot on the 2021 PFWA All-Rookie Team.
He finished second in the voting for Offensive Rookie of the Year behind Ja’Marr Chase. He was chosen as an alternate for the 2022 Pro Bowl, making him the fourth rookie quarterback in team history and the first in quarterback history for the Patriots.
