Lyndell Santrell Wilson, also known as Mack Wilson, is a well-known linebacker with the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He stands 1.85 meters tall and weighs 106 kilograms. He went to Montgomery, Alabama’s George Washington Carver High School.
After high school, he signed a commitment to play collegiate football at the University of Alabama as a five-star recruit. He participated in collegiate football for the Alabama Crimson Tide squad. As a true freshman at Alabama in 2016, he participated in every one of the 15 games and made eight tackles. He participated in 12 games as a sophomore in 2017 and made two starts.
He finished with 40 tackles, four interceptions, and one touchdown. He made 71 tackles, one sack, and two interceptions in 2018 as a junior. Wilson made the decision to forego his senior year and join the 2019 NFL Draft following the season. The Cleveland Browns selected him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
He made a career-first sack of Brandon Allen in week 9’s 24-19 loss to the Denver Broncos, finishing with a team-high 5 tackles. He intercepted his first professional pass in week 15’s 38-24 loss to the Arizona Cardinals when Kyler Murray, another rookie, threw the ball. He was exchanged for the New England Patriots in March 2022.
