Malik Herring is a defensive end who currently plays for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League.
Malik Herring entered the world on November 9, 1997, in the city of Forsyth in the state of Georgia. Over twenty other institutions expressed interest in him, but he ultimately decided to attend Georgia.
In 2017, Herring was a freshman and participated in all 15 games, making seven tackles for the season. The following year, he played for Georgia in 14 different games, and at the end of the season, he was granted the award for the defensive player who had improved the most.
After Herring was passed over in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs decided to take a chance on him and sign him as an undrafted free agent.
To begin the new season, he was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list because he was rehabilitating from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) that he sustained while participating in practices for the college football Senior Bowl.
In 2022, Herring was the sixth defensive end on the Chiefs’ final roster to earn a spot on the team. In week three of the NFL season, he played his first game and made his debut with two tackles in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 20–17.
