He received first-team All-State recognition in 2016 and was named the 2016 Georgia Region 7A Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
He attended Colorado State University and played collegiate football for the Colorado State Rams after graduating from high school. He participated in all 12 games and one start as a true freshman in 2017, compiling 35 tackles, six tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks.
