Wilson made 34 tackles and 10 interceptions as a freshman starter. Before his sophomore year, he was selected for third-team All-SEC in the preseason. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL just two games into the season, and he was forced to redshirt the rest of the year. He had 36 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, and 2 pass breakups as a redshirt sophomore.
He had a significant incident as a junior that involved throwing a shoe in a celebratory fashion late in a game against the LSU Tigers on December 12, 2020. This led to an incredibly disrespectful conduct penalty that gave LSU a first down. Later in the drive, LSU kicked a field goal and went on to defeat the Gators 37-34.
