Professional football player Marco Wilson is a cornerback for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals. He stands 1.83 meters tall and weighs 87 kilograms. He played football for the American Heritage School squad while there. He turned down offers to play collegiate football at other universities in favor of Florida.
From 2017 to 2020, he was a member of the University of Florida’s Florida Gators football team. He broke up 10 passes and collected 34 tackles as a true freshman. He received third-team All-SEC honors in the preseason before his second year. Sadly, he suffered an ACL tear two games into the season, forcing him to sit out the remainder of it.
He had 36 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, 3 interceptions, and 2 passes broken up as a redshirt sophomore. He had a famous incident as a junior in which he celebrated by throwing a shoe late in a game on December 12, 2020, which led to an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
The Arizona Cardinals selected Wilson with the 136th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He agreed to a four-year rookie contract with the Cardinals in May 2021. He started all 14 games of his rookie campaign in 2021 at a cornerback and finished with 48 tackles, two forced fumbles, and two passes defensed.
