Mark Anthony Vientos is a New York Mets third baseman.

Charles W. Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, Florida, was where Vientos spent his first three years of high school.

He batted .321 as a junior. At Petco Park that summer, he participated in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.

For his senior year of high school, he switched to American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida. He batted .417 in 26 games as a senior.

He was drafted in the second round (59th overall) of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft by the New York Mets following the season.

Vientos signed a $1.5 million deal with the Mets, foregoing his college baseball commitment to the University of Miami.

Vientos made his professional debut with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Mets after signing with the Mets, before being promoted to the Rookie-level Appalachian League’s Kingsport Mets.

Between the two teams, he batted.262 with four home runs and 26 RBIs in 51 games. In sixty games with Kingsport in 2018, he slashed .287/.389/.489 with 11 home runs and 52 RBIs.

He hit .255/.300/.411 with 12 home runs, 62 RBIs, and 27 doubles in 111 games with the Columbia Fireflies of the Class A South Atlantic League in 2019.

He was selected the Mets Minor League Hitter of the Year after the season.

Owing to the suspension of the minor league season due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Vientos did not play a minor league game in 2020.

He was sent to the Double-A Northeast’s Binghamton Rumble Ponies to begin the 2021 season.

In early September, he was promoted to the Syracuse Mets of the Triple-A East after slashing .281/.346/.580 in 72 games with 22 home runs and 59 RBIs. Vientos batted .278 with three home runs in 11 games with Syracuse.

The Mets picked Vientos’ contract and added him to the 40-man roster on November 19, 2021. For the 2022 season, he returned to Syracuse.
