American football outside linebacker Markus Golden currently plays for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. Golden played football at the University of Missouri and was picked by the Cardinals in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. During his time at Affton High School, Golden was a record-setting running back and linebacker. He ran for 1,139 yards and 16 touchdowns during his junior season, setting a school record with 168 tackles and 16 sacks. Due to clearinghouse complications, Golden was able to join Missouri’s team late, but he still had a positive impact. He played in all 12 games (mostly on special teams), made 10 tackles, and ultimately forced one fumble. He also contributed significantly to numerous special teams groups.

Golden led MU ends with 55 tackles as a junior in 2013 and played around 40% of the snaps behind Kony Ealy and Michael Sam. He also contributed 13 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and 8 passes broken.
