Matt Araiza, also known as Matthew Ryan Araiza, is a punter for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills in American football. He is 91 kilograms and 1.85 meters tall. On May 16, 2000, he was born in San Diego, California, in the United States. At Rancho Bernardo High School, he participated in football. He was a two-time All-America selection as a placekicker and had a 37 field goal success rate.

He turned down scholarships from UMass and Montana to play college football for the San Diego State Aztecs at San Diego State University after high school. In San Diego from 2018 to 2021, he worked. During his true freshman year, he redshirted.

As a redshirt freshman, he took over as the team’s placekicker. He set a school record with 22 field goals on 26 attempts and was named honorable mention All-Mountain West. He began his redshirt junior season as the Aztecs’ starting punter along with his kicking duties, and ESPN named him an All-American midway through the season.

He received the Ray Guy Award for being the best punter in the country. Araiza declared that he would skip his last season of eligibility to join the 2022 NFL Draft following the conclusion of the 2021 campaign. He was chosen by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
