Matthew Aurel Brash (born May 12, 1998) is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Seattle Mariners (MLB). In 2022, he made his MLB debut.



Brash went to Kingston, Ontario’s Bayridge Secondary School. He went to Niagara University in Lewiston, New York to play collegiate baseball for the Purple Eagles after going undrafted out of high school in 2016. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft by the San Diego Padres.

Brash was transferred to the Seattle Mariners as the player to be named later in a prior transaction for Taylor Williams on September 17, 2020.

Brash pitched for the Everett AquaSox and the Arkansas Travelers in the 2021 season, finishing 6–4 with a 2.31 ERA and 142 strikeouts in 97+13 innings.

Seattle added Brash’s contract to the 40-man roster on September 28, 2021, and promoted him to the major leagues for the first time, although he did not appear.
