Matt Carpenter Parents: Meet Rick Carpenter and Tammie Carpenter

Matt Carpenter

Baseball player Matt Carpenter, whose full name is Matthew Martin Lee Carpenter, was born in the United States. He is an infielder for the baseball franchise known as the New York Yankees. Matt was born on November 26, 1985, in Galveston, Texas, in the United States.

Matt participated in baseball while a student at Elkins High School. He enrolled at Texas Christian University (TCU) after graduating high school and began playing baseball there. He studied communications as his major at the university. He was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 13th round of the 2009 MLB Draft.

That year, he made his professional debut with several A-level organizations, including the Quad Cities River Bandits, the Palm Beach Cardinals, and the Batavia Muckdogs. He was promoted to the main leagues by the Cardinals in 2011, and on June 4th, he played his first MLB game. He signed a six-year, $52 million contract deal with the Cardinals in March 2014.

In March 2022, the Texas Rangers signed Matt to a minor league deal. An invitation to their major-league spring training was part of the contract. He was given a major-league contract by the New York Yankees in May 2022.

Matt Carpenter was born to Rick Carpenter and Tammie Carpenter. His dad, Rick is a former collegiate baseball player turned high school baseball coach.

Before moving on to Fort Bend Dulles High School and subsequently Fort Bend Lawrence E. Elkins High School, Rick Carpenter worked as a teacher and coach at La Marque High School. Rick coached there for an additional fifteen years. His mother, Tammie used to play softball.
