The third baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball, Matthew James Chapman was born on April 28, 1993, in New York City (MLB).
He was previously a member of the Oakland A’s. Chapman made his Major League Baseball debut in 2017 with the Oakland Athletics. Prior to the 2022 season, he was sent to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Among his many honours are three Gold Gloves, a Platinum Glove, and two Fielding Bible Awards. On top of that, he was named Wilson Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 and an All-Star in 2019.

After hitting.244/.335/.521 in 117 games with 29 home runs and 83 RBIs, Chapman was named the 2016 Texas League Player of the Year.
He spent the entire 2015 season with Stockton Ports, a Class A-Advanced team. Athletics invited him to spring training in 2016.
Prior to getting promoted to Triple-A Nashville Sound, he played in 2017 for the Nashville Sound and the Beloit Snappers. He missed the first two weeks of the season because of a wrist injury.
