The baseball player Matt Chapman, who was born in the United States and goes by the stage name Matthew James Chapman, is most well-known for being a member of the Toronto Blue Jays.

In Victorville, California, the United States, on April 28, 1993, Jim and Lisa Chapman welcomed him into the world. He participated in baseball at Toro High School in Lake Forest, California. After going undrafted out of high school in the 2011 MLB draft, he attended California State University, Fullerton and played collegiate baseball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans.

He was chosen by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft. He entered into a deal with them the following year and made his professional debut with the Rookie-level Arizona League Athletics. This season, he was promoted to the Class-A Beloit Snappers. In 2015, he was compelled to compete for the Class A Advanced Stockton Ports.

He was welcomed to the 2016 spring training of the Athletics. On June 15, 2017, he made his MLB debut after being promoted for the first time by the Athletics. The Toronto Blue Jays bought his contract in March 2022. In the same month, he signed a two-year, $25 million contract with the Blue Jays.
