With both Connecticut Tigers and West Michigan Whitecaps in Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League, Manning compiled a combined 4–2 record and 3.18 earned run average (ERA) in 14 total starts.

As a member of West Michigan, Lakeland Flying Tigers, and Erie SeaWolves in 2018, he was a member of the Class A-Advanced Florida League.

Tigers prospect Dawel Lugo was struck out in the 2018 All-Star Futures Game by him. A 7–8 record, 3.29 ERA, and 1.20 walk-plus-hits-per-inning pitched ratio was Manning’s stats in 22 starts for the three teams he played for.

He returned to Erie at the start of the year. Manning was selected to play in the Futures Game of the 2019 All-Stars.

After attending Center High School in Antelope, California, he went on to play college basketball for Syracuse University and the University of Washington.
