Matt Moore is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has played in MLB for the Tampa Bay Rays, San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, and Philadelphia Phillies.



The Charlotte Stone Crabs of Class A Advanced were led by Moore, who had a stellar season. He had the most strikeouts in the Florida State League in a single season since Michael Cosgrove had 208 in 1971.

This led to a 3.36 earned run average (ERA) and an average of 1.18 walks and hits per innings pitched (WHIP).



Fox Sports reported that in both 2009 and 2010, Moore started off to a rough start and his technique wasn’t where it needed to be, but he found his stride during the course of each season.

The Double-A Montgomery Biscuits were home to Moore to begin the 2011 season. Against the Mobile BayBears on June 16, he pitched his first career and first franchise no-hitter for the Biscuits in an 8–0 win.

A few months later, he made his debut at the Futures Game, throwing 11 pitches that reached speeds of up to 100 mph (161 km/h) and striking out all three batters in an inning.

His promotion to Durham Bulls Triple-A came soon afterward, on July 22.
