Matthew Cody Moore is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Texas Rangers (MLB).

He has played for the Tampa Bay Rays, San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, and Philadelphia Phillies in Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

Moore was selected by the Rays in 2007. Before making his MLB debut in 2011, he established many Rays’ minor system strikeout records.

Moore played two seasons with the Rays until Tommy John surgery sidelined him in 2014. He was sent to the Giants in 2015 and the Rangers in 2018.

Moore signed a one-year deal with the Tigers in 2019, however, he only appeared in two games before sustaining a season-ending knee injury. In 2021, he’ll join the Philadelphia Phillies.

Born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Ryan Moore grew up on the island of Okinawa, Japan. During the 2007 MLB Draft, the Rays selected him as an eighth-round pick.

He helped lead Moriarty Pintos to a runner-up finish in the state championship and was voted Gatorade Player of the Year during his senior year.

Before being selected, Moore had already made a decision to attend the University of New Mexico and play baseball.

Matt Moore is a father and a husband. He has been married to Anna for many years. Anna works as a maternity nurse.

Scottsdale, Arizona is the name of their son. Their kid was born in Tampa in February 2019.
