Matt Overton is an American football long snapper, who was born in San Leandro, California, on July 6, 1985. Overton joined the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad on October 4, 2022. Overton was added to the active roster on October 15, 2022.

Following his time at Diablo Valley College, he played college football for Western Washington before being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks in 2007. As a member of the Indianapolis Colts, Overton also participated in the 2013 Pro Bowl.

Overton played football for the Bulldogs at Tracy High School in Tracy, California, where he was a two-way starter for the Bulldogs for four years. At Diablo Valley College, Overton started playing collegiate football.

Overton received the Special Teams MVP and Team Captain awards during his stint with DVC.

In 2008, Overton participated in af2 games for the Tri-Cities Fever. He participated in the inaugural UFL championship while playing for the United Football League’s Florida Tuskers in 2009, helping them to an unbeaten campaign.

Overton joined the Indianapolis Colts on April 3, 2012. He was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2013 and was largely used as a long snapper.

Overton and the Colts agreed to a four-year contract extension on March 3, 2015. He was released by the Colts on May 1st, 2017
