Matt Peart Contract, Salary and Net Worth

One of the more intriguing examples of a homegrown success on the New York Giants squad is Matt Peart. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Peart and his family relocated to The Bronx when he was young. He remained there until receiving a full scholarship to attend Governor’s Academy in Massachusetts.

When Peart first signed up for the program, he had no prior experience playing organized football. Peart began participating in sports during his first year at Governor’s Academy and went on to win four straight titles while battling on both sides of the line.

Peart made the decision to play for the UConn Huskies, where he redshirted his first season before starting 48 straight games at both offensive tackle positions. Prior to the NFL Draft in 2020, Peart traveled to Mobile, Alabama, to take part in the Senior Bowl.

The Giants selected Peart with the 99th overall choice in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the intention of developing him into their long-term right tackle.

Sadly, that’s where the dream comes to an end and the nightmare starts. When Peart arrived at camp, he was unable to compete with veteran Nate Solder for the starting position since he had injured his back while working out as a rookie.

Peart did, however, play in 11 games during his rookie season (2020) and showed some signs of promise. Peart watched his NFL world come crumbling down around him in 2021, despite playing in 15 games (mainly on spot duty), when he tore his ACL late in the season, seriously jeopardizing his 2022 season.
