Matt Prater, also known as Matthew Phillip Prater, is a professional football player who kicks extra points for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals. His height is 1.78 m, and his weight is 91 kg. In Florida’s Estero, he attended and participated in high school football at Estero High School. He spent four seasons playing collegiate football with the University of Central Florida Knights.

He participated in 46 games over the course of his college career and made 50 of 74 field goals, with a long of 53 yards. His 258 points place him fourth all-time in school history, and his 50 field goals tie him for the record at his school.

The Detroit Lions signed Prater as an undrafted free agent in May 2006. He got a contract with the Atlanta Falcons shortly after. He was included in the practice squad for the Miami Dolphins in November 2007. Prater was signed by the Denver Broncos after departing the Dolphins’ practice squad in December 2007. In October 2014, he was purchased by the Detroit Lions for a single season.
