He played college baseball with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League after his sophomore year in 2011.

The New York Mets selected Reynolds in the second round of the Major League Baseball draft in 2012. After signing Reynolds, the Mets switched him to shortstop.

In his first season as a professional, he played with the Savannah Sand Gnats of the South Atlantic League’s A division, hitting .259 with three home runs in 42 games.

Reynolds participated in one game for the Double-A Binghamton Mets and 117 games for the High-A Florida State League in 2013.

He made an unimpressive hit. In 436 at-bats, he batted .225/.300/.335 with five home homers.

After returning to Binghamton to begin the 2014 campaign, Reynolds was promoted to the Triple-A Las Vegas 51s after batting .355 in 58 games.

He played in 115 games with the 51s in 2015, batting.267/.319/.402 with 65 RBIs and 6 home runs.
