He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 30th round of the 2015 MLB draft, but he chose to remain with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish instead.

For three seasons, Vierling was a member of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s college baseball team. As a sophomore, he hit.330 with seven home runs and 42 RBIs and was awarded All-Atlantic Coast Conference third team for his efforts (ACC).

When he was a sophomore in high school, the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League offered him the opportunity to play in their organization.

The junior year saw Vierling hit.310 with 10 home runs and 43 RBIs, good for second-team All-ACC honors. At this year’s Major League Baseball amateur draft, the Philadelphia Phillies selected outfielder Ryan Vierling in round five.

Williamsport Crosscutters assigned him after signing with the team.
