Matthew Festa is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Seattle Mariners in the United States.

Festa went to Staten Island, New York’s St. Joseph by the Sea High School.

He began his undergraduate baseball career at Dominican College, where he played for the Dominican Chargers for one year before transferring to East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, where he spent three years as a member of the East Stroudsburg Warriors.

The Seattle Mariners selected him in the seventh round of the 2016 MLB draft, with the 207th overall pick.

Festa pitched in 14 games for the Everett AquaSox of the Low-A Northwest League in 2016, going 6–2 with a 3.73 earned run average (ERA) (eight starts).

In 2017, Festa pitched for the Modesto Nuts of the High-A California League, going 4–2 with a 3.23 ERA in 69+23 innings pitched and appearing in the league’s all-star game.

Festa was invited to spring training by the Mariners in 2018. He began the season with the Arkansas Travelers of the Double-A Texas League, then on July 14, he was promoted to the major leagues by the Mariners.

In 2019, Festa was named to the Mariners’ Opening Day roster. Festa was sent down to Triple-A many times throughout the season, and he only made 20 appearances for Seattle in 2019.

Festa was designated for assignment on February 3, 2020, and outrighted on February 10. Festa underwent Tommy John surgery on March 5, 2020, thereby ending his 2020 season before it began.

In August 2021, he pitched for the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers, pitching 21.1 innings with a 2.95 ERA while also participating in four rehab games with the High-A Everett AquaSox and AZL Mariners.
