Maxx Williams

In the National Football League, Maxx Williams plays tight end for the Arizona Cardinals. He is 1.93 m tall and 114 kg in weight. He played high school football while attending Waconia High School. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Minnesota where he played NCAA football for the Minnesota Golden Gophers squad.

After spending his first year at the university redshirting, he started seven of the team’s 13 games as a redshirt freshman in 2013 and caught 25 passes for 417 yards and five touchdowns. As a sophomore, he had 36 receptions for 569 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Williams skipped his junior and senior years in favor of entering the 2015 NFL Draft after his redshirt sophomore season. He was taken by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was given a four-year, $4.05 million contract by the Ravens in May 2015. He joined the Arizona Cardinals in May 2019. He started out as the Cardinals’ tight end for the 2021 campaign.

He was placed on season-ending injured reserve after sustaining an ACL tear in Week 5. With 16 receptions for 193 yards and one receiving score, he had a successful season. Williams re-signed with the Cardinals in March 2022 on a one-year contract. His release took place on October 7, 2022. Three days later, he was re-signed to the practice squad.

Maxx Williams is the son of former NFL player, Brian Williams and former volleyball player, Rochele Williams. Brian Williams was a three-year letterman at center at the University of Minnesota and was selected in the first round of the 18th overall pick by the New York Giants in the 1989 NFL Draft.
