For the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League, Micah Parsons plays linebacker professionally. He is 111 kg and 1.91 m tall. Prior to coming to Harrisburg High School, he spent his freshman and sophomore years at Central Dauphin High School. He recorded 121 tackles, 27 tackles for a loss, including 18.5 sacks as a rookie.

He recorded 69 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, and 13.5 sacks as a junior. He had 1,239 yards rushing, 27 touchdowns on the ground, 99 yards receiving, and 2 receiving touchdowns as a senior. In addition to 55 stops, he recorded 17.5 tackles for loss, 10 12 sacks, and one interception. At Pennsylvania State University, where he studied, he was a member of the Penn State Nittany Lions football team.

After making 14 tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles, he was awarded the defensive MVP of the 2019 Cotton Bowl Classic. Due to worries about the COVID-19 epidemic, he decided to forgo the 2020 season and refuse his remaining years of college eligibility in favor of declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft. The Dallas Cowboys selected Parsons with the 12th overall choice in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

In June 2021, he agreed to a $17 million, four-year rookie deal. He recorded 84 total tackles, 13 sacks, and three forced fumbles by the end of the 2021 campaign. He received unanimous Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, was selected for the Pro Bowl, and was named to the AP’s First Team All-Pro.
