Michael Charles Brantley Jr. is a Major League Baseball left fielder for the Houston Astros in the United States.



He formerly played for the Cleveland Indians and was known as “Uncle Mike.” Mickey Brantley, a former MLB player, and hitting coach is his father.

The Milwaukee Brewers selected Brantley in the seventh round of the 2005 MLB Draft after he starred for Central High School in Fort Pierce, Florida.



Brantley was traded to the Indians along with several prospects for CC Sabathia during the 2008 season.

Brantley was a member of the baseball and golf teams at Fort Pierce Central High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. He had a .595 batting average, 22 runs batted in, 12 runs batted in, and 32 stolen bases as a senior for the baseball team.

Brantley threw up his National Letter of Intent to play collegiate baseball with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers after getting picked by the Milwaukee Brewers out of high school.
