Michael Lorenzen, born Michael Clifton Lorenzen happens to play professional baseball in the position of a pitcher and outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels baseball team. He was born and raised in California on January 4, 1992, to parents Clif Lorenzen and Cheryl Lorenzen.
Michael played baseball for his high school team at Fullerton Union High School in Fullerton, California. The Tampa Bay Rays drafted him in the seventh round of the 2010 MLB draft but he did not sign with them and chose to go play college baseball at the California State University.
In 2012, he played in the United States national collegiate baseball team and also played collegiate summer baseball with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
In 2013, Baseball America ranked him as the 52nd prospect. The Cincinnati Reds drafted him in the 2013 MLB draft in the 38th pick. He agreed to play for them and signed with the team. He made his professional debut that year with the Arizona League Reds. He also played for the Dayton Dragons, Bakersfield Blaze, and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos during the season.
The Reds called him up to the major leagues in April 2015. He made his MLB debut for the Reds on April 29, 2015, when they played against the Milwaukee Brewers. Michael signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Angels in November 2021.
