Michael Lorenzen Parents: Meet Clif Lorenzen and Cheryl Lorenzen

Michael Clifton Lorenzen is one of the professional baseball pitchers in the major leagues. He plays for the Los Angeles Angels as both a pitcher and outfielder. Michael was born and raised in California on January 4, 1992.

He had his amateur high school career at Fullerton Union High School located in Fullerton, California, where he played for the school’s baseball team. He was drafted after high school by the Tampa Bay Rays but he did not sign with them.

He chose to enrol at the California State University, Fullerton to play college baseball for the Titans. Whiles in college, he was named an All-American and he was also a finalist for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award.

In 2012, he was part of those selected to play in the United States national collegiate baseball team. That same year, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was drafted in the 2013 MLB draft by the Cincinnati Reds.

He signed with them and played with the Arizona League Reds that season to begin his professional career. Michael made his MLB debut on April 29 2015 for the Reds after they promoted him to the major leagues that month.  In November 2021, he signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Angels. The contract was worth $6.75 million.
