Michael Pierce Contract, Salary and Net Worth

Michael Pierce

The offseason was a good time for Baltimore to add a nose tackle. Michael Pierce is returning to his old squad in Baltimore, where he will serve as a key defensive player.

The Ravens needed to add to their defensive line depth. If some of them do return, it wouldn’t hurt to bring in another veteran, especially if he played for Baltimore before.

Derek Wolfe, Justin Madubuike, and Broderick Washington are three of their outstanding defensive ends and tackles right now. In a 3-4 defense, all three players are more suited to playing defensive end, where delicacy and agility are more important than brute strength.

Madubuike flashed the ability to disrupt the line of scrimmage and make plays in the backfield while veteran Wolfe was sidelined all season due to injury. While the team’s run defense was excellent last season, allowing the fewest rushing yards in the league, it could use more stability, potential, and bodies in general.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the former defensive tackle Michael Pierce has been re-signed by the Ravens at a salary of $5.55 million per season. The contract’s total value is $16.5 million over three years, with a minimum of $6.75 million guaranteed.

After going undrafted in 2016, Pierce spent his first four professional seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. Although the Vikings signed the 29-year-old nose tackle, he had to sit out 2020 due to COVID opt-outs.

Pierce only played in eight games for Minnesota due to injuries, but he made 20 tackles, three for loss, and three sacks. Salary cap difficulties forced the Ravens to release him, but now he’s back in the starting lineup.
