For the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League, Michael “Mike” Ford participates in professional football as a cornerback. He is 1.83 m tall and 90 kg in weight. He played football for the Explorers team at Marquette Catholic High School while he was a student there. He was selected to the first team for the league as a senior on offense and defense.
Additionally, he was an All-State running back after amassing 1,614 yards and 28 touchdowns on the ground. On return plays, he added five more touchdowns, while on defense, he had 69 stops, recovered two fumbles, and made three interceptions. He attended Southeast Missouri State University after high school and played college football for the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks squad.
He redshirted as a freshman. He played wide receiver as a redshirt freshman the next year. He was named to the second team of the Ohio Valley Conference as a sophomore after compiling 44 tackles, five interceptions, and seven pass breakups. As a redshirt senior, he had 32 tackles, had two sacks, an interception, and broke up 14 passes.
Ford and the Detroit Lions reached a free agent agreement on April 28, 2018. In August 2021, the Lions released him. The Denver Broncos took him off waivers in September 2021. He was added to the injured reserve list in October 2021. He becomes operational on November 6, 2021. In April 2022, Ford and the Atlanta Falcons reached an agreement about their partnership.
