Mike Trout, born Michael Nelson Trout is one of the professional baseball players with the Los Angeles Angels baseball team. He plays as a centre fielder for the Los Angeles Angels. He was born to parents Jeff and Debbie Trout.
He grew up in New Jersey where he was born on August 7, 1991. He was drafted out of high school at Millville Senior High School in Millville, New Jersey by the Los Angeles Angels. They drafted him in the 2009 MLB draft and he signed with them.
That year, the Angels assigned him to play for the Arizona Angels of the rookie-level Arizona League (AZL) to start his professional career. That same season, he also played for the Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Class A Midwest League during the season.
That year, Baseball America ranked him as the Angels’ third-best prospect and the 85th-best in all of baseball. In the 2010 minor league season, he was assigned to play for Cedar Rapids. He also played in the All-Star Futures Game that year.
He earned a promotion to spend the rest of the 2010 season with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the Class A-Advanced California League. The Angels promoted him to the major leagues in 2011 and he made his MLB debut for the Angels on July 8, 2011.
