He agreed to join them, and they gave him a signing bonus of $1.2 million. Haniger was sent to the Brewers’ affiliate in Appleton, Wisconsin, after signing a contract with the team. There, he played in 14 games for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Class A Midwest League. In 2013, he started the season with the Wisconsin Badgers before being promoted to the Class A-Advanced Florida State League’s Brevard County Manatees.

The Brewers traded him to the Arizona Diamondbacks in July 2014. On August 16, 2016, he made his MLB debut after being promoted to the big leagues by the Diamondbacks. The Seattle Mariners acquired him in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks in November 2016, and he has been playing for them ever since.
