MJ Melendez is an American professional baseball catcher for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB). Melendez is the 42nd top prospect in baseball, according to Baseball America.

Melendez spent his junior year at St. James School in Montgomery, Alabama, before transferring to Westminster Christian School in Palmetto Bay, Florida.

MJ Melendez

Melendez had a.160/.284/.280 batting line in 88 Triple-A plate appearances in 2022, but he was off to a rocky start. Last year, he had no such problems at that level, hitting.293/.413/.620 in 45 games.

Melendez will now be considered for a position as Perez’s apprentice at the highest level of the game, based on his performance in the ’21 season.

Melendez’s plus-plus arm earns him credit on defense, but Baseball America says he still needs to work on his receiving and blocking behind the plate.

Melendez will join Julio Rodriguez, Bobby Witt Jr., Spencer Torkelson, C.J. Abrams, Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo, Seiya Suzuki, Matt Brash, Bryce Stott, Jeremy Pea, Heliot Ramos, and MacKenzie Gore as the 13th Baseball America top 100 prospects to make his Major League debut this year.

MJ Melendez Children: Does MJ Melendez Any Kids?

MJ Melendez has no children of 2022. Melendez has not mentioned that he is a proud father and for that matter, it is unclear if the baseball player has a child somewhere.
