Myles Straw

Myles James Noble Straw is an outfielder for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball in the United States.

He was picked in the 12th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the Houston Astros, and he made his major league debut with them in 2018.

Myles Straw and his wife  Lily Herrmann live in Bradenton, Florida. Braden River High School in Bradenton, Florida, awarded him his diploma in 2013.    

Perfect Game named him Honorable Mention for the Florida Region in 2013. Myles Straw played collegiately for two years at St. Johns River State College.  

In his sophomore season (2015), he hit.413 with 16 steals and a.472 on-base percentage on his way to being named to the Mid-Florida Conference First Team. 

MFC Defensive Player of the Year went to Myles Straw. Myles Despite only playing 60 games, he was a valuable addition to the outfield, producing a 1.9 bWAR during his two months with the club, enough for seventh on the team.

 

 

Straw was traded to the Cleveland Indians for Phil Maton and Yainer Diaz on July 30, 2021.  Straw batted at the end of the 2021 season.

Between the Astros and Indians, they hit 271/.349/.348 with four home runs, 48 RBIs, and 30 stolen bases.

 

Straw signed a five-year, $25 million deal with the Guardians on April 9, 2022.
