Nate Herbig Contract, Salary and Net Worth

The New York Jets have claimed former Eagles offensive lineman Nate Herbig after the Eagles dismissed him on Wednesday, according to the league’s transaction wire.

Herbig, 23, signed with the Eagles as an undrafted rookie in 2019 while Jets general manager Joe Douglas was still with the team.

While Herbig had a successful three years with the Eagles, Douglas left in June of 2019 to become the general manager of the New York Jets. Herbig participated in 33 games during those three seasons, including 17 starts, including 5 at right guard the previous year.

The Eagles made a right-of-first-refusal offer to Herbig, a restricted free agent this offseason. In the end, Herbig accepted the tender, earning $2.433 million in pay for 2022.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Eagles “decided” to release Herbig on Wednesday. During the draft, they attempted to trade him, but nothing happened.

The Eagles still have strong depth on the interior of their line even without Herbig. They still have Jack Driscoll, Sua Opeta, Kayode Awosika, and other players on the roster in addition to the center Cam Jurgens, who was also selected and will also train as a guard.

The two-day rookie minicamp for the Eagles, who are in the middle of their offseason program, will start on Friday.
