He chose to join the University of Oklahoma to play college football for the Oklahoma Sooners football team after receiving 30 scholarship offers from American universities.

During his rookie year at Oklahoma (2015), he redshirted. In 2016, as a freshman, he played in all 13 of his games, starting six of them. As a sophomore in 2017, he played in 12 of the 14 games and started the first five. He missed the final two games due to injury. He made 14 starts for the 2019 season as a senior and recorded 30 tackles (7.5 for loss), 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 7.5 total tackles.
