Nicholas Jacob Martin, an American football center for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League, was born on April 29, 1993. He was selected by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft after playing college football for Notre Dame.
Martin and his brother Zack attended Saint Matthew Catholic elementary school in Indianapolis, Indiana, from kindergarten through eighth grade. Martin has also played for the Las Vegas Raiders and New Orleans Saints.
From third to eighth grade, both Martins participated in the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) football program.
Martin was taken by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft (50th overall). Martin was given a four-year, $4.77 million rookie deal by the Texans on May 13, 2016, which included a $1.67 million signing bonus and a $2.33 million guarantee.
On March 24, 2021, Martin signed a contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. For the duration of the season, he served as Andre James’ backup center.
Martin committed to the New Orleans Saints on July 26, 2022. He was waived on August 30, 2022, and the following day, he was added to the practice squad. On September 10, he was released.
