Maton was promoted to the majors as a result of the Phillies placing eight players on the COVID-19 disabled list.

He started at shortstop against the San Francisco Giants that night, and he got his first major – hit in the sixth inning against starter Kevin Gausman.

During his time with the big league team, the 24-year-old continued to build on his success, making 11 starts in April and hitting.333/.366/.436, with 13 hits, four of which were doubles.

Maton gained, even more, starts in May after Didi Gregorius went down with an injury, and he continued to be a valuable member of the club.

On May 16, despite a.626 OPS, he had 13 hits, two doubles, seven RBI, four walks, and his first and second major league home runs against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Maton was subsequently demoted back to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, and he only appeared in the majors seven more times.
