Nick Maton Wife: Is Nick Maton Married?

Shortstop and second baseman Nicholas Maton is an American Major League Baseball player for the Philadelphia Phillies (MLB).

In 2021, he made his MLB debut. The Oakland Athletics selected Matt Maton in the 40th round of the 2015 MLB draft.

His preferred collegiate sport was baseball, so he enrolled at Eastern Illinois University to pursue that goal.

He transferred to Lincoln Land Community College after his first season. In the seventh round in 2017, the Philadelphia Phillies chose him and signed him as amate.

For the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Maton split his time between the short-season Williamsport Crosscutters and the Class A Lakewood BlueClaws, before earning a promotion to the Double-A Reading Fight Phils for the remainder of the season.

Baseball America ranked him as one of the top ten prospects in the country for 2020. Because of the COVID-19 epidemic, the minor league season in 2020 has been cancelled.

Maton joined the Phillies’ 40-man roster in 2020. Maton was promoted to the Phillies on April 19, 2021, after being assigned to the team’s alternative training location.

That night, against the San Francisco Giants, he got his first MLB hit, a single off Giants starter Kevin Gausman.

Maton began his career with a six-game hitting run, including three multi-hit games.  On May 16, 2021, against the Toronto Blue Jays, he hit his first and second MLB home runs.
