Nick McCloud was born to Nakia and Jonetta McCloud in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on July 9, 1998. He went to South Pointe High School and enjoyed playing football there. From 2016 through 2019, he participated in NCAA football for the North Carolina State Wolfpack, recording a total of 58 tackles for the team. In the year 2020, he transferred to the University of Notre Dame and became a member of the Fighting Irish football team.
McCloud joined the Buffalo Bills in May 2021 as an undrafted free agent. He was fired on August 31. On September 1, 2021, the Cincinnati Bengals picked him up off waivers. He was released by the Bengals on November 4, 2021. On November 8, 2021, he rejoined the Buffalo Bills as a member of the practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract on January 24, 2022, following the Bills’ loss in the Divisional Round of the 2021 Playoffs.
