Nicholas Peter Senzel is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds in the United States. Senzel played college baseball for the Volunteers at the University of Tennessee before moving on to the professional ranks.

In the 2016 MLB draft, the Reds selected him with the second overall pick, and he made his major level debut in 2019.

Senzel went to Farragut High School, which is located in Farragut, Tennessee. He was a starter since his sophomore season for the school’s varsity baseball team, which he played for all four years.

While playing second base for the Admirals as a junior, he had a.404 batting average, seven home runs, and 46 runs batted in (RBIs).

He signed his National Letter of Intent to play baseball for Georgia after his junior season. He hit.386 as a senior, with five home runs and 42 RBIs.

Coach David Perno was granted a release from his word of intent to the University of Georgia after Georgia sacked him.

He committed to the University of Tennessee on June 17, 2013. He was a walk-on his first season in college due to his late transfer to Tennessee.

Senzel had a .315 batting average, .419 on-base percentage (OBP), and .420 SLG as a freshman at the University of Tennessee in 2014, with twelve doubles.

He started 45 games at designated hitter (DH) and eight at second base, appearing in 53 of 54 games. Louisville Slugger and Perfect Game named him a freshman All-American.

Senzel played college summer baseball with the Mat-Su Miners of the Alaska Baseball League after his freshman season at Tennessee, going 17-for-81 (.210) with three home runs and 13 RBI.
