As a defensive tackle with the New York Giants of the National Football League, Nick Williams plays in the NFL. He weighs 141 kg and stands 1.93 m tall. After Minor High School, he graduated and enrolled to Samford. He played football for the Bulldogs of Samford. He received a redshirt as a freshman in 2008 and then had two years of backup duties in 2009 and 2010.

Over the course of all eleven games in 2011, he made 23 tackles and three tackles for loss, earning a starting position. He surpassed himself in 2012, playing in all 11 games and recording 31 tackles, eight for a loss, six sacks, and a blocked punt.

Williams was taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers as the 223rd overall choice in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He was released by the Steelers the next day, on August 30, 2014, and subsequently added to the team’s practice squad. In November 2014, he was released from the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad and signed by the Kansas City Chiefs.

He was signed by the Miami Dolphins in October 2016; his contract expired in September 2017. In April 2018, the Chicago Bears acquired Williams. He rejoined the group in March 2019 and signed a one-year contract. In March 2020, he made a commitment to the Detroit Lions for two years and $10 million. On July 26, 2022, the New York Giants hired his services.
