Tim Goodrum is a well-known baseball coach, counselor, and consultant.

He is the general manager of Elite Metro Sports and Cages in Fayetteville, a baseball and softball facility owned by his son, Niko, an FCHS graduate and member of the Minnesota Twins organization.

In 2012, he founded the non-profit Hit and Run Sports Academy with the goal of raising funds to help low-income and at-risk children gain access to baseball.

During this time, a proposal was written and forwarded to Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig.

The proposal described the goal as well as the number of children and families that would be affected in the Atlanta metropolitan area and nearby areas.
