Gray was born on April 30, 1999. (NFL). He attended Duke University for his college football career and was selected by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the NFL Draft in 2021.

As a senior in high school in Massachusetts, quarterback for Duke University Ryan Gray received first-team All-state honors.

When he was a freshman on the team, he played wide receiver, but by the time he was a sophomore, he was the team’s starting quarterback.

He switched to wide receiver as a junior and completed 101 of 179 passes for 1,707 yards and 21 touchdowns while still playing quarterback.

During his sophomore year at Duke, he participated in all 13 of the school’s games and finished with 20 receptions, 234 yards, and one score.

Gray was selected for the second team All-ACC and the second team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation during his junior season, when he recorded 51 receptions for 392 yards and three touchdowns, earning him those honors.

Gray was one of the most highly regarded tight end prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft when he started his senior season. He was also on the watchlist for the Mackey Award.
