The Dallas Cowboys made the signing of rookie defensive lineman Osa Odighizuwa, who was selected in the third round official on Monday.

According to the slotted wage method used by the NFL, Odighizuwa was awarded a contract for a total of four years. The graduate of UCLA will reportedly make approximately $660,000 in base salary and will count $924,761 against the team’s salary cap for the 2021 campaign, as reported by Spotrac.

The signing of Odighizuwa brings the total number of players in Dallas’s draft class to 11. He is the ninth to do so.

Odighizuwa had a successful collegiate career at UCLA before moving to Dallas. During his tenure with the Bruins from 2017-2020, the 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive player recorded 120 total tackles (67 solo, 27.5 for loss), 11.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles over 37 total games played.

As a senior, he was named to the first team of All-Pac-12 after recording 12 solo tackles, six tackles for loss, and four sacks over seven total games played.

Osa Odighizuwa is the brother of former New York Giants defensive end Owa Odighizuwa. Osa’s greatest strength is his positional versatility.
