Professional baseball player Otto Lopez, real name Otto Ariel Lopez, is a Canadian-Dominican. He participates in Major League Baseball as an infielder for the Toronto Blue Jays. He is 73 kilograms and 1.78 meters tall.
On October 1, 1998, he was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In July 2016, the Toronto Blue Jays acquired him as a free agent from abroad. In 2017, he made his professional baseball debut with the Blue Jays of the Gulf Coast League’s Rookie Division. He participated in the 2018 minor league campaign with both the Short Season-A Vancouver Canadians and the Rookie Advanced Bluefield Blue Jays.
Otto participated in 108 games for the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts during his first complete minor league baseball season in 2019. 324 with 50 RBI, 20 stolen bases, and 5 home runs. He participated in 13 games for the Leones del Escogido of the Dominican Professional Baseball League during the offseason.
He didn’t participate in any games in 2020 since the COVID-19 outbreak forced the cancellation of the minor league season. In order to keep him out of the Rule 5 draft, the Jays signed him to their 40-man roster in November 2020. During the off-season, he joined the Leones once more. On August 17, 2021, when the Jays took on the Washington Nationals, he made his Major League Baseball debut for the team.
